UYO Cathedral is an international worship center in UYO, the capital of Akwa Ibom in Nigeria’s 21st state. It has a sitting capacity of 8,500 with such appurtenances as the main auditorium, library, offices, and conference halls, among others.
The outline structural lighting has been done such that the contours of the building are enhanced.
The indoor lighting is designed to appear as a lantern thus lighting concept justifies the building design. Linear lights are embedded in the front metallic canopy structure to create a grand welcoming entrance and in-ground washers illuminating the vertical surfaces around the structure.
